My name is Hu Chen. I entered the Great Expectations program in 2007. After graduation from high school, I studied in Beijing medical school to be a physician assistant. In 2014, I graduated with high honor. Now I work as a physician assistant in Yan Qing Community Hospital. I love my job and I love helping people! I have patients telling me every day: “you look so positive and happy!” I told them I am! I want to help them to be that way, too.
In one of the talks Dr. Lu gave us, he said: “Every day, the sun rises from eastern sea and sets in western ocean: be happy this day; or be unhappy this day – your choice.” I thought he’s right. Why not be happy and be positive? So I am.
I am very thankful to GCI. My family was too poor to send me to high school. Going to college was not a possibility. With the help and support from GCI, I became who I wanted to be. I want to thank all the GCI supporters. You have changed my life for the better! I promise you I will be a responsible person and I will give back.
